Goalie Development

Goalie Program

The program is open to ALL CHA goalies. This includes Central States, Mo. Hockey League and GRHL goalies of all ages.

We look forward to an exiting season and wish all our goalies the best of luck. Our Goalie Clinic schedule for the season is below.

CHA is pleased to have Bruce Racine return as our lead goalie instructor. Coach Racine brings over 30 years of professional playing and coaching experience to CHA goalies. Coach Racine has won a Stanley Cup, Turner Cup (IHL), a Hockey East Championship and 2 Beanpot titles while playing for the Northeastern Huskies. He was a 2-time NCAA All American, named to the 25th Anniversary NCAA Hockey East team and inducted into both the Beanpot Hall of Fame and the Northeastern Hall of Fame.

Locally Racine Goalie Academy is celebrating its 12th year.  Coach Racine has worked with goalies from AAA-Mites, has had students drafted by NHL, OHL, USHL, SJHL, NAHL and NA3HL and has goalies playing NCCA D1 and NCCA D3 college hockey. Coach Racine has consulted with other goalie coaches in North America and has developed a teaching method that starts by teaching and building on basic techniques, recognizing that each goalie is unique and has their own natural abilities, building confidence and metal toughness, and teaching how saves are created from both a  physical awareness and a mechanical know-how perspective.  Coach Racine does all of this all while embracing the goalie's love for the position, love for the game of hockey and making being a goalie fun.

We encourage one head or assistant coach from each team to attend as many of the clinics as your schedule allows.  It is a great way to work with your goalie and learn drills to take back to your team practices.  We also need coaches to help run stations and serve as shooters.
