2020-2021 Participation & Opt-Out Policy

This information applies to both our Lady Falcons program (Girls) as well as Falcons program (Boys).

Our Mo Hockey Travel teams play in a competitive league that is tiered appropriately for all skill levels. Compared to a Recreational or House League, the Travel program is offered for players looking for a greater level of competition.

With travel hockey there is an expected level of commitment. Teams can expect to potentially practice 2-3 times a week, and travel out of town an average of 1-3 times, depending on individual team and coach preferences and desires. Players are expected to attend all team events and place their CHA team at the top of their sports priority list.

Evaluations are held in August and the season runs through potentially early March. These teams compete primarily against hockey associations from the St. Louis area; however some of these clubs will reside outside of the immediate St. Louis area. Additionally, Travel teams may participate in out-of-town competitive tournaments based upon the interest level of the team members. Ample practice times and solid coaching have made the Chesterfield Hockey Association Travel program very competitive.

All coaches, regardless of their team designation, are required to provide the same development model, ensuring that every player, regardless of their current abilities, will have the same opportunities to develop. Teams are provided the same number of on ice hours with CHA guided development programs. We aim to sustain a successful formula that provides excellent development opportunities for all players, fun and excitement for players and families alike, and a good overall youth hockey environment.

Be sure to read the entire webpage before registering. There will be a $50 late fee assessed for any registration that occurs after midnight of August 12th.

Evaluations are not Tryouts. Evaluations are a mechanism we utilize to appropriately group kids with other similar kids, based on their current skill sets. This method allows us to ensure players are appropriately matched with a team & teammates of similar skill level. Over the course of a few days, we evaluate players individual skating and puck skills, team concept skills and Hockey knowledge. Players are evaluated through a mix of drills & game situations. Our Coaches independent and evaluators will observe the kids during these evaluation sessions & sub divide them after each session. Following the conclusion of evaluations, we will inform players of their team placement for the season.

Players are expected to attend all evaluation sessions unless otherwise told.

Additional details regarding evaluations will be sent to all registrants & posted on this webpage prior to the start of evaluations.

  • Camp & Evaluations: $185

There is no separate fee for just Evaluations.

Club fees cover practice ice and league game ice times. Club fees do not include any potential Team Fees. Club fees at this age level also do not cover the cost of game jerseys or socks which must be purchased by individual families.

Team fees are determined by the individual teams AFTER teams are formed for the season. An example of what team fees may cover include but are not limited to:

  • Tournament fees
  • Party fees
  • or any other necessary fees the individual teams and coaches deem necessary to provide the best experience for the team.

Team fees are not optional so in fairness to all individuals on the team, we require any additional team fees to be equally split among the families of those teams, unless other mutual agreements have been put into place by the teams.

All team fees, collection & disbursements will be managed at the individual team level by the team manager. Team managers will be determined at the team level after teams are formed (please consider volunteering for this crucial role). The club encourages teams to fundraise when possible to help offset any possible team cost.

To help team managers succeed, they will be supported by our club level Team Manager coordinator; Brooke Schaub.

Additional Info for All Players

All payments are automatically withdrawn from the credit card used at the time of registration. Installment payment will be equally split. Should you choose the installment payment plan, an extra $30 will be added to the overall total of your club cost - to cover credit card processing fees.

In addition the following will be incurred during your initial registration. This is a one time process this regular season.

  • $15 Missouri Hockey Fee
  • $50 Capital Contribution Fund
  • 2020-2021 USA Hockey Membership

Capital Contribution Fund: In August of 2019 the Maryville University Hockey Center opened. This facility is a state-of-the-art ice and multi-sport facility in Chesterfield Valley. This exciting project will help the club thrive and grow throughout the next several decades. As highlighted during the project planning stages, our funding for the project has come from many different sources, with almost a 1/3 (big and small) from a great number of generous donors from across the community. To date, these contributions have total several millions of dollars; with contributions continuing to be pledged as we near construction completion of the project. As we work towards reducing our bank loan debt through methods including / but not limited to - additional facility program revenue, cost reductions, continuous ongoing capital campaigns, and etc. - we have implemented a Capital Contribution Fund of $50 for all club members. This fund is a once a year charge (during the regular season), and it will be utilized to reduce our additional debts as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding and support!

2020-2021 USA Hockey Membership: Free this season for players born in 2014 or later / $46 for players born in 2013 or earlier. If you already signed up for your 2020-2021 USA Hockey Membership Number as part of a Spring or Summer program, you will not need to re-complete this process. Just reference that number during registration. USA Hockey Membership Numbers are good for 1 year.

For our 10U and older age groups, the cost of game jerseys & game socks IS NOT included in the club cost. Participants will be required to purchase them. You will own them.

Club Game Jersey Fitting Date:
For 10U-14U Co-Ed AND 10U-14U Lady Falcons

Bring your shoulder pads AND shin guards. Also read all of the details below.

All players 10U and older must have a black helmet, black pants and black gloves. This is mandatory to play in games.

Game Jerseys
We will retain the same style of game jerseys from previous years. If you have a set of 10U game jerseys from last season, VERIFY THEY STILL FIT (with shoulder pads and elbow pads on).

  • If the game jerseys still fit, then you do not need to purchase a new set of jerseys this year.
  • If they do not fit OR you do not have a set of the 10U or older from last year, then you will be required to purchase a set.

Game Socks
We will be switching to a new style of Game Socks this year to make it easier & faster to manufacture in bulk. EVERYONE in the 10U or older age groups will be required to purchase the new style of socks.

If you have game socks from last season, you can wear them at practice but not during games.

If you are purchasing a new game jersey, we will handle the sock fitting at the same time.

If their game jersey still fits, and they only need the socks, we will handle that at the team level after the season starts (you will not need to attend the jersey fitting session).

Jersey Numbers

  • Odd birth years get odd numbers
  • Even birth years get even numbers

Number availability is first come first serve. Some numbers may not be available due to prior assignment in previous years. Additional rules may apply, please discuss at jersey fittings.

You will get a Home and Away set with your purchase.

  • Jerseys and Socks: $250
  • Socks Only: $40

You will pay for these at the fitting session. Payment due at time of fitting.
